We've been quite busy for the past couple of weeks, sorry we haven't been writting much.

So let start giving more details on what's been happening lately:

Tuesday we went to Perdicaris forest in Tangier to shoot the video for the song "I Raise My Hand" with Samy El Mekkaoui & Hassan Ouazzani

Special Thanks to all those who came and helped us for the shooting, Adil you are a great actor! Hatim & Hicham you guys are the BOSS as usual!!! Younes, hope the sun didnt burn you too much!! Hassan & Sami , i know you guys still got a lot to do with the editing part but we are already proud of you!! you are very professional and we loved sharing the day with both of you, you complete each others very well! hope the train back home wasnt too much hell!!

So excited to see the final result!

We had an awesome evening yesterday at La Salle Gerard Philippe de L’Institut Français de Rabat.

We'd like to thank Smail, and the rest of Atmosphear for inviting us to be part of this great show, and thanks to all the people who was there, you guys really ROCK!! Getting to play in Rabat is always a great pleasure for us, we really had fun and enjoyed the whole experience.

Lazywall joins forces with Belcanto Agency

The Tangier-based promotion and production agency will be distributing "Restart", the first official album released exclusively in Morocco and containing 12 songs chosen from the four EP/LPs that the band has released in the UK from 2004 till 2009.

Belcanto Agency is also organising the debut concert of the band at the Cinémathèque de Tanger, on April 2nd.

Evening with Sébastien Sindeu

The band just had a very nice jam/interview and photo session with french photographer Sébastien Sindeu. We went through acoustic versions of songs like Cold enemy, I raise my hand, Reality, but also the new recordings (Out of tears, Souk Asylum and the unfinished Ghosts). At each break, we had some tea, some talks and of course good laugh.

This project will be part of his photo documentary about travels, nomads, come backs, ... and Tangier!

It was a great day.

New Mics

Hey we just got some new microphones in the studio! we should start tomorrow a few tests and prepare the future recordings. D112 for the kick, some Seinheisers 604 for the toms, classic C1000 for overheads, a Rode NT5 for hihat and of course SM57 for the snare.
We also got the Rode K2 mic, a very nice valve microphone for the vocals that suits the vocal booth we just built !!

Anyway, the plan is to record 6 songs in the next 4 weeks. Dont know how long is gonna take to be honest, but we wont be happy until they sound perfect!

For those of you who heard some of these songs in jams/rehearsals, we will probably start with "Blood on Blood", a 10min long song including some Oud/Guitar battle in the solos. Then maybe "Out Of Tears", "Tskarfess & Sacrifice", "Souk Asylum", "Revolution" and "Cold Like A Bitch".

And if the last song is ready, maybe we'll give it a shot as well.

The moroccan publication "3ain Ala Alfen" based in Tangier and distributed in the whole Arab world will publish an interview with Lazywall in one of their future edition. The meeting was held yesterday morning with the magazine editor Najd Tatari, and Youness Fakhar.

Hello all,

Just got back from a great week!!We left home on friday at 4pm to, first of all, our first show with Tarik E. as the guitarist of Lazywall.It was in Rotterdam for the Baroeg multicultural fest. and I have to say it went down great.The whole evening was awesome, great vibs on stage and good sound.
And then, fly back to Morocco, for our first live show for a moroccan TV.We recorded "Korsa Live", where we're joined on stage by Ritchy on Percs and Youness on 3oud.We'll put up some pics soon. The show is schedulded to be broadcast for the last week of February 2010.Looking forward to it.

Ok we're done with experimenting, time for proper recording now!

Yesterday was "mics positioning" and "sound checkings"

Today we recorded the 8-track drums with a very clear sound on each mic. Very surprised of the quality of the M-Audio, impressive pre-amps!!

we also decided to try recording the bass thru a bassdrum microphone and it sounding much deeper and interesting... no D.I. recording for now

this evening we started testing the guitar sound with Tarik's new thoughts. the arpeggio panning natural effect is a brillant idea and the verses are amazing!!

soooo looking forward to do the overdrive guitars tomorrow

at this pace we should be starting the vocals in a couple of days!!!

This is it!!!!Finally!!!Lazywall's new pictures!!!

We just had our first photo session as the new Line-up, the first official pictures with Tarik E.

We had an amazing afternoon with photographer Karima Naim at the castle of Perdicaris, house of many tales during it almost 200 years, and we're glad to write a new episode.
Surrounded by it's botanic garden and in the heart of a forest, the castle has plenty of rooms full of stories, different shades and colors, like the creepy bedroom and the singing angels main living-room.

We'll put some pictures up in the next few days.

Lazywall signs a publishing deal for the song "Cold Enemy" with the Californian label Visions From The Roof

The song will appear in the EMI compilation "Flowers In The Desert", a collection of songs from north african and middle eastern bands regrouped by the author of the book "Heavy Metal Islam", Mark Levine.

In his website, Mark says: "Great news for all fans of the best metal, hiphop and hardcore hailing from the Middle East and North Africa, Flowers in the Desert, the compilation featuring many of the artists discussed in Heavy Metal Islam, is now being pressed as of July 2009 and being prepared for a global release in September. Last night's show was the first acoustic as the new line-up and it was excellent!!
Good atmosphere during the whole gig, it was great to be back on stage for an acoustic chilled out evening.We started with Cold Enemy, followed by CYBL, Raise My Hands and finally Reality(with a very Jazzy ending)
We had Ritchie as a guest on percussions (Thanks bro).And thanks to all the people who were there for this surprise.

First full rehearsal
